Olewo Carrots and Red Beets Eliminate the Need to Treat Dog with Risky Steroids
Florida pet owner Jessica Anderson knows all too well how environmental allergies can affect dogs. Her own pup, a five-year-old Beagle named Bentley, suffered for years from severe skin allergies, which made his life—and hers—miserable.
“Bentley’s skin always was red and inflamed,” Anderson says. “He constantly was itching and scratching, and he even developed bald spots where he had completely chewed his hair out.”
A visit to the veterinarian determined that Bentley was suffering from environmental allergies. To alleviate the dog’s extreme discomfort, the veterinarian prescribed steroid injections, which the dog was given every four to five weeks for nearly 18 months.
As most pet owners are aware, there are many side effects associated with short term and long-term steroid use in dogs, some risky and even dangerous. Among the most common side effects are increased hunger and weight gain, increased thirst and urination, general loss of energy, and development or worsening of bacterial skin infections.
Anderson, who owns Happy Hounds Pet Sitting and Grooming and also works as an assistant at Four Paws Doggie Day Camp, which are both based in Bradenton, Florida, knew there had to be another, safer alternative she could use to treat her Bentley’s skin allergies without jeopardizing his health. “I spoke with Heike Caspary, who is the co-owner of Four Paws Doggie Day Camp, and she introduced me to Olewo pet food supplements,” Anderson says.
“I immediately started adding the carrot and red beet supplements to Bentley’s daily meals, and, within two weeks, his itching subsided. By the end of the month, all of the symptoms of his skin allergies were completely gone,” Anderson happily reports.
“Olewo Carrots and Olewo Red Beets have worked miracles with Bentley,” Anderson continues. “I truly believe that they are great products, and I wish I had known about them before Bentley received the steroids.”
