9 Yummy Veggies that Dogs Can Eat

January 8, 2018 by Vital Veggies for Pets Leave a Comment

Dogs are carnivores, but some vegetables are perfect for them, because they can balance the diet. Some vegetables can help improve health, regulate diet, and are natural supplements that some meats and other dog food might not contain. Here’s just a few of many veggies that dogs can eat.

9 Yummy Veggies that Dogs Can Eat

Just a note: Any of the veggies can be added to your dogs food, whether canned, dry, homecooked, or even raw.

Asparagus

Asparagus contains a lot of great vitamins, like Vitamins K, A, B1, B2, C and E. This veggie is also loaded with iron, fiber, manganese and potassium.

Broccoli

Broccoli is a great source of Vitamins A, C, and K. For broccoli, just cut it into smaller pieces, and then steam until it’s still a bit crisp, but also has some tenderness.

Carrots

Carrots are great for a dog’s gut health. A lot of sources online like to say that you shouldn’t feed dogs carrots. You can, but they aren’t very digestible as is. That is why products like Olewo Carrots for Dogs are around. They are prepared in a manner that dogs can digest for effectively, and get the nutrients they need to heal their leaky gut, and eliminate diarrhea.

Cauliflower

Cauliflower can help with arthritis in older dogs. You can serve this raw or cooked, but make sure to cut them small so it’s easier for the dog to eat.

Green Beans

Green beans can be fun to feed to your dog. They contain omega-3 fatty acids, as well as vitamins A, C, and K. In fact, you or your family could even hand feed these to your dog, as a treat since they aren’t really that big. Just cut to make sure they’re bite-sized.

Lettuce

Unsure if your dog is getting enough water? Well, lettuce can help with keeping your dog hydrated.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin can be good for helping with diarrhea and constipation. However, if your wanting better absorption of the veggie, choosing Olewo carrots is the better option, especially since it specifically prepared to allow your dog’s digestive system to absorb the veggie’s nutrients a lot better.

Red Beets

Red Beets is an amazing root plant that can help detoxify your dog’s body and reduce inflammation. It also has an antioxidant to protect body from cell damage. For your dog to effectively benefit from red beets, try Olewo Red Beets for Dogs.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are a delicious addition to any dog’s diet. This root vegetable contains vitamins E, A, B6, and C. It also has calcium, iron, potassium, and copper. Just cut up really small and add to your dog’s food, whether you’re feeding raw, home cooked, dry, or wet food.

It’s important to note that you should consult with your dog’s veterinarian, to help determine what your dog is missing, and choose what vegetables to add into your dog’s diet. Additionally, it is much better to add whole food, rather than synthetic vitamins.
